Many services aim to work with people’s strengths, goals and interests. However, sometimes we undermine this by focussing on people’s problems rather than on nurturing their passion, motivation and self-esteem.
Strengths-based practice can help people rebuild their lives following homelessness, multiple disadvantage and trauma. This course will help you to implement truly strengths-based practice with simple and creative tools which can transform people’s experience of your support.
· Understanding the difference between strengths and deficits
· The role of strengths-based practitioners
· Strengths-based assessment, support and risk management
· How to discover and support strengths
